Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented UAS Payload Integration Specialist to lead the design, development, and integration of mission-critical payloads onto unmanned aerial platforms. This role is ideal for someone with a deep technical background in UAS systems, avionics, sensors, and mechanical integration. Primary duties will require some travel domestically and internationally.
Note: DelMar offers tremendous flexibility regarding work location. While the nature of the position will require travel to Company facilities in Oregon, Nevada and elsewhere, employees can often work virtually from their desired home of record when not travelling.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the end-to-end payload integration process for various UAS platforms supporting commercial & government projects, including mechanical, electrical, & software components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, flight ops, and project management to ensure mission readiness.
- Analyze payload requirements & develop custom mounting, power, data interface solutions.
- Conduct ground/flight testing, troubleshoot issues, implement performance improvements.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, safety protocols, and client requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation, integration procedures, and test results.
- Develop supportability and maintainability solutions for integrated sensors
- Travel and deploy worldwide with military forces as required
- Work in groups or independently with minimal or no supervision
- May be required to work odd shifts, weekends, and/or extended hours
Qualifications and Skills
- Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Degree or equivalent commercial and/or military experience. [Note: Degree desired NOT Required]
- 3+ years of experience in UAS or aerospace payload integration, development or research
- Hands-on experience with commercial and/or military avionics, sensor systems (e.g., EO/IR, LiDAR, SIGINT), flight hardware.
- Strong understanding: UAS architecture, power distribution, data communications, RF systems
- Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) + basic programming or scripting (e.g., Python).
- Prior experience flying or maintaining UAS, muti-rotor and fixed-wing (Desired)
- Ability to travel for field tests and customer support as needed.
- Maintain ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance (Desired).
- FAA Part 107 Certification (Desired)
- Must be a US Citizen.
